Local Government
Dear HFA Members:
We are starting a letter writing campaign to draw attention to the state of our open spaces here in Hoboken. As parents, we feel it's time that the city government make a concerted effort to maintain the existing parks more vigilantly and develop new play spaces for all our children, from infants and toddlers to kids and teenagers. We have included three samples letters, two for grown-ups and one for your children. Please feel free to write your own, the important thing is the volume of mail the Mayor receives on this very important topic. (Mentioning the HFA, is also a plus!) Our city government works if we all get involved. Thank you!

Are you annoyed or angry about something going on in Hoboken?
BE HEARD!! Here are two ways to voice your opinions or concerns:
#1: The Hoboken Reporter
PO Box 3069
1400 Washington Street
Hoboken, NJ 07030
Email: editorial@Hudsonreporter.com
Don't underestimate the power of the press. For example, recently, there have been a few letters to the Editor regarding litter on Washington Street. Now there is a No Tolerance policy and new street cleaning and anti-litter procedures in place. Everyone in Hoboken, including and especially the politicians, read the letters in the Reporter! It couldn't be easier!
#2: Office of Constituent Services
Hoboken City Hall, First Floor
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
(201) 420-2000
This new consolidated office was recently announced in an article in The Hoboken Reporter. This is the front annex for Mayor Roberts' office. It will serve as the location where people can comment or complain about anything related to municipal government.0/00 Citizen comments will be recorded and tracked until final resolution. Every day the Mayor will receive a report of residents, comments and respond accordingly.
These are two great opportunities to very quickly and easily get your concern to the elected officials. Don't forget to mention that you are a member of the HFA! Any questions? Contact Irene S.
